What are colors?
Color is, technically speaking, a visual sensation that helps us distinguish objects. The world would be such a dull place without colors where it would be nearly impossible to differentiate one thing from another. Right from our childhood, we associate virtually everything with certain colors; the trees are green, the sky overhead is blue, the flowers are red and blue and orange and violet, the earth is brown, the moon is white, the night is black, and so on. The events and occasions are often remembered not by anything else but colors of the clothes worn by various people; and even the moods are so often associated with colors. While envy is green and fear is yellow; anger is red and gloom is blue. In nutshell, life is nothing without colors.
Significance of colors for Architectural CAD drafting:
Like everything else in life, the importance of colors for the designers is enormous. Would you like to enter a building that looks ugly or haunted? Would you like to live in a house where the interiors seem unwelcome or uncomfortable with uninspiring or sickening colors? Colors can make or break the entire mood of any building. An ordinary space can be transformed into a vibrant area with a bold color scheme while an absolutely brilliant building otherwise can be made to look dull and dreary if the colors chosen are uninspiring. You can change the quality and mood of a structure or its interior instantly by changing the color scheme, that’s how effective a medium it is.
We shall continue to discuss the importance of colors for Architectural CAD drafting in our next post also since it’s such a vast topic. We shall detail all the reasons that make colors such an integral part of the design scheme of any designer.
